I can hear you thinking; noodles? Aren't those unhealthy? I thought you were gonna eat healthier?
Well.. I am eating healthier. But there's nothing wrong with sinning every now and then. And I love noodles so why not? Anyways..
I've been trying to find (cup) noodles that don't make me queasy afterwards. Like I enjoy eating noodles but then when I've finished the last bite I feel kinda sick and I don't know why. So I went to the Asian toko and picked a few brands I hadn't tried yet. Most of them made me feel nauseous but there was one that didn't: Soba noodles.
They come in four flavours: classic, teriyaki, chili, and curry. Now I don't really like spicy food so I din't try the chili and curry one, but I've heard that they're really nice. I bought the cup noodles and the packet noodles, just to see if there's any difference.
Let's first discuss the cup noodles. Just like other cup noodles you have to add hot water. I really like these because the lid has holes in it, so it's easy to get rid of the water. Unlike most other noodles these have a sauce instead of seasoning. I really liked that because it just added a lot more flavour to it.
I really love the classic noodles. They're great. Though they don't really have many veggies so it's mostly noodles and sauce. The teriyaki one was nice too, but it did make me queasy. It's weird because I love teriyaki sauce. But I guess it's just me being weird. The teriyaki one did have more veggies so that was a plus.
Now the packages. I didn't try the teriyaki one because I didn't feel like getting sick again. But I assume it's pretty much the same as the classic one. Because the difference I noticed was mainly that the noodles were softer, and so was the taste. I'm honestly not sure how I feel about that, because it wasn't worse than the cup noodles but it also wasn't better. All I know is that it's way easier to use the cup noodles because it doesn't require any cooking. But the cups are more expensive than the packages. (Soba noodles in general are more expensive than other noodles, but in my opinion it's worth it.)
Conclusion: I really like this brand. So far it's the best I've tried. Unless you get nauseous easily like me, I suggest you try all flavours because it's really worth it. Though remember that these kind of fast noodles aren't all too healthy, so don't eat them every day. Just use them to treat yourself every once in a while.
