For years I've been dreaming of dyeing my hair a bright unnatural colour, but I never got the chance to do it. My parents didn't approve of it, and even when I managed to get them to loosen up about it I only got to dye my fringe, which I dyed blue last year.
But now I live on my own, so I can do whatever I want. (Okay.. My parents still won't allow me to get a piercing or tattoo, but still..)
So I ordered some bleach and hair dye and got to work.
I had only once dyed my hair on my own, but I had never bleached my hair before. Luckily I knew that my hair is pretty strong, and thus I used Manic Panic's bleach kit (volume 40) and it worked really well! My natural hair colour is dark blonde/light brown and it turned almost white. The parts that were dyed brown turned orange, though I used a toner (by Directions) to get the orange colour out and it ended up being blonde.
Then I used Purple Rain hair dye by Arctic Fox and rinsed my hair after about twenty minutes. Looking back I should've put it in longer because I wanted it to be darker, but I made up for that when I redyed it.
Also I recommend to use gloves when using the dye. I was used to hair dye that washes off easily, but Arctic Fox isn't one of those..
I'm really satisfied with this hair dye. It doesn't bleed at all and it fades really slowly. Though I have to mention that I only wash my hair with shampoo once a week, but even then I barely see any difference. The night after I dyed it I slept with a towel on my pillow because my hair was still damp, but it didn't bleed at all. So I'm really happy with that. Also the dye smells really nice and the smell stayed in my hair days after I dyed it.
The bottle of hair dye was €18.99, which is on the more expensive side. But it's really worth it. I've now used it two times for my entire hair and it's still around half full. But then again I have short hair.
Overall I'm really happy with it and I would definitely use this brand again.
