I love music, like most other people. I like how people can express themselves in a song, and how that song can make you feel certain things. But in my opinion you don't need to understand a song to get that feeling. If someone is a good singer, they should be able to reach you with just their voice. So here is my list of my favourite non-English songs.
1. 陳粒 (Chenlee)
I discovered this singer a few days ago and I absolutely love her voice. Her songs are very calming and are very nice to listen to. Her whole album is great, actually. If you like what you hear, here is a playlist with her current album.
2. Melissa Horn
Since I'm learning Swedish I tried to look up some Swedish songs, and a Swedish friend of mine linked me to this one. I literally got goosebumps in the first few seconds, so that's a good sign. I think it's a beautiful song, and Melissa Horn's other songs are just as great.
3. Christine and the Queens
I know this song is a little bit more known, but it really is one of my favourite French songs. It's just really nice to listen to. Somehow I don't like French when it's being spoken, but French songs always make me smile. The same goes for German, actually.
Okay, I have to admit that I found this song through anime, as it's one of the ending songs from Tokyo Ghoul. However, I listened to some of their other songs and I absolutely love them. It's definitely worth checking out.
I heard this song on the radio a while ago, and although I thought it was strange at first I've grown to like it. The singer is from Belgium, and sings in Flemish, which means I can understand it. That makes it even more special because I very rarely like Dutch/Flemish songs. But this one is pretty cool.
